This edition of THE GATHERING: Carte Blanche brings us to Gasthaus Helmut in Leipzig – a place where craft meets comfort, and where bold flavors are rooted in honest tradition. On November 12, 2025, 25 curated guests will gather for an uncompromising five-course dinner, co-created by two of Leipzig’s most exciting kitchens: Gasthaus Helmut and its Michelin-starred sister restaurant, Gasthaus Frieda. This evening is not about luxury, it’s about warming up with the right people for the Effie Award Show the day after. Like the Effie Award itself, this dinner is about substance – about dishes that tell stories, ingredients that reflect place, and hospitality that feels effortless.
We serve five carefully composed courses, served in an intimate setting that invites openness, curiosity, and connection. A candlelit table. A glass of something special. And a shared belief that food tastes better when the conversation goes deep. It’s a night to slow down, lean in, and discover what happens when great people and great cooking meet without pretense.
